Last weekend, the 11th of September, the entire Catalan population was celebrating it´s national day: el Día Nacional de Cataluña. There was a wide range of demonstrations, concerts and celebratory events.
To show their pride everybody waved with red-and-yellow striped Catalan flags, or senyeras. Floral offerings are laid by the Rafael Casanova and Josep Moragues monuments in Ciutadella Park.
The activities commemorate the fall of the city into the hands of Bourbon troops during the War of Spanish Succession in 1714.
As always dozens of people were running with torches around the neighborhood of Barceloneta.
At different spots concerts were given, we had a wonderful time during this event!
